Belt Requirements

Belt Requirements is where you configure the per-milestone class counts, time gates, and curriculum area requirements GRADR uses to decide when a student is eligible for the next stripe or belt promotion.

For a full explanation of how the system works — including how per-milestone counters reset, the IBJJF defaults, the three eligibility gates, instructor overrides, and the Kids stripe-count setting — see the in-depth reference:

Quick Steps

  1. Go to Settings → Belt Requirements.
  2. Select the Adults or Kids track.
  3. Kids track only: if you want to change how many stripes appear on kids belts, edit Kids belt stripes (1–4) and click Save before continuing.
  4. For each belt, fill in the Per-milestone class counts table — one row per stripe plus a final row for the belt promotion. Leave a row blank to use the IBJJF default for that milestone, or enter a number to override.
  5. Set Min. months at rank if you want a time gate on the belt promotion (0 disables it). Stripes are not gated by time.
  6. Optionally expand Area requirements to require a minimum number of classes in specific curriculum areas before promotion.
  7. Click Save all belt requirements at the bottom. This saves both tracks in a single update.
